As fans and supporters of the Real Figures Don’t F.O.L.D Song Contest await the Finals outcome, CATAWOL Records presents another surprise.
Eight standout Acts from the Knockouts Stage were invited back to the studio to record full versions of their Contest entries.
The resulting compilation, named The Lost Figures, premieres on YouTube today at 6 PM GMT. Fans, supporters and curious listeners alike are encouraged to join in by watching and submitting comments and questions.
A Second Spotlight for Eight Memorable Acts
To celebrate the creativity, resilience, and community spirit at the heart of the Contest, a group of independent judges and the MODE Family selected the Acts involved.
The Acts featured in The Lost Figures are:
- Chelsea Chapel
- Clémence Duval
- Emma Finch
- Lorien
- Marissa Wild
- Max Bellamy and the Moonlight Swingers
- Raya Vibes
- Sonder Drift
Along with their compelling Knockouts performances, these Acts stood out for their unique ways of expressing the message behind the Sigfig’s original lyrics.
Why The Lost Figures Matters
The Lost Figures is not just a retrospective; it also reflects what the Contest has stood for from the beginning: giving artists a platform and using music to confront bullying in hobby spaces.
Although falling short of making the Finals, the voices of the selected Acts are just as valuable.
By returning to record their Songs in full, these Acts have added a new layer to the Contest’s legacy — one shaped by craftsmanship, reflection, and a shared sense of purpose.
What the Acts Said
The invited Acts spoke warmly about being asked back for another contribution, with several describing the experience as a meaningful extension of their Contest journey.
Max Bellamy spoke on behalf of his band, the Moonlight Swingers:
Naturally, we jumped at the chance to be part of this: we were ready to go. We performed the song the way we know how and really put on a show — without the pressure of being in the Finals!
Veteran Act Marissa Wild, who came out of retirement to enter the Contest, was thrilled to have more time in the spotlight.
Being asked to return felt like a real honour. The Contest gave us a moment we’ll never forget, and this was a chance to give something back to it.
Julian Muraoka of Sonder Drift emphasised the importance of the message over winning and losing:
The Contest was always about more than a single performance, and far more than who has the best Song. This release lets people hear versions other than the ones with the most votes.
For many, the invitation was a reward for the impact they made across the Knockouts Stage.
